You strive to be a smart consumer. You're ready to look around before choosing your next smartphone. Here's the thing, though, not everyone thinks that this research is required. Jesus Diaz, a writer for the lifehacker Web site, is one. He says that today's smartphones are so similar it doesn't matter what one you choose for yourself.
Twins
Diaz claims that you could switch to a new smartphone tomorrow and barely notice a difference. And he brings some persuasive evidence to back up this belief.
A Litany of Same?
It's easy to understand Diaz's point. All smartphones today allow you to watch movies, communicate through social media, surf the Web and send and receive e-mail messages. Most apps are available for all smartphone platforms.
Not All Agree
Diaz's fellow lifehacker writers, though, don't totally agree. They point out certain platforms - like Windows Phone - that don't support nearly as many apps. In addition they point to price. Next you have cameras; some smartphones have good ones, others poor ones. So the message here is ambiguous. What's your opinion? Are all smartphones the same?
